I am thankful.

This season of thanksgiving is a reminder to observe the beauty around me and be in awe of all that has been given to me. Although I do not celebrate thanksgiving with turkeys and great meals, it is nevertheless a chance for my mind and heart to feast on what I am blessed with.

This list is not all I am thankful for, since then my list would then be endless, but these do constitute of some of the things I am most thankful for.

I am thankful for:

  1. God

He is endless love. He is with me everywhere, every moment. He has given me life.

  1. Life

I breathe. I am here, now.

  1. Parents

I know they are the people who care the most about me, no matter what. They love me just because I am who I am.

  1. Two sisters

They are my challenges and also my comfort- they are the ones I can truly be myself with.

  1. People

Friends, teachers, and other random people I meet that help me get through life a bit happier.

  1. A world full of colors

They make the world so much more diverse, so much more interesting, and so much more alive.

  1. The sky

It is a canvas for anything, both light and dark. The silhouettes of nature, especially trees, stand so vivid against the sky, while stars lighten up the deep blue of the night.

  1. Kenya

The home I have known longest. The home I know best.                                                                       The home I love.

  1. Korea

The place where a large part of who I am comes from. Though I only visit the place once in four years, I know, and I feel, a part of me belongs there.

  1. Weather

Rain falls like stars from the sky to bathe the stained world, reminding me I can still start afresh. The sun shines to show warmth yet remains in the world, reaching out to the darkest of places.

Look around. Do you see?                                                                                                                                         Do you see the love, the joy, the things to be thankful for?

No?

Then breathe in, breathe out, and start there- you are alive.
